Forums - Gaming - Tembo the Badass Elephant Announced for XBO/PS4/PC (Sega x Game Freak)

Honestly, it doesn't look bad to me.

I like 2D Side-Scrollers, so maybe I'll give it a try.

The real question, can this Tembo join the high ranks of fictional elephants with Elmer, Nellie and Babar?

Is this the first game they've released on playstation/xbox platforms?

No, i think they did ps before. I know they did PC. They mostly do Pokemon anywayz

Last and only PS game was 1999... So yeah they have been mostly Nintendo exclusive.

Elephants seem to be getting some spotlight this gen with Far Cry 4 and now this game

I wonder if Junichi Masuda, Ken Sugimori and other well known Pokemon developers are working on this? Or a if a smaller part of GameFreak is developing this? Or if this is primarily made by Sega with a few GameFreak developers?

But the bigger question is... Why isn't this on Wii U as well? I rather have this game on Wii U/3DS than Sonic Boom.

Regarding the game itself, it has a Metal Slug x Donkey Kong feel to it and seems pretty fun! Wonder how big the game will be and if its going to be a digital only software.

Sega and Game freak team up to deliver a game that looks like it was made in a basement by 4 dudes.

Question: who owns Pokemon ip? Gamefreaks? nintendo? both?

I believe Nintendo owns the majority of Pokemon because Nintendo, Creatures Inc.(also owned by Nintendo), and GameFreak have equal ownership of the Pokemon ip. However, Nintendo has created the Pokemon Company to handle all the merchandising of the Pokemon IP when it isn't video games. But even then, those merchandise are accedited to Nintendo, Creatures Inc, and GameFreak and all three have equal ownership of those merchandise as well.

GameFreak themselves are a second Party developer that primarily works with Nintendo but isn't obligated to only making Nintendo games. But since Nintendo owns the majority of the Pokemon IP, GameFreak usually releases their Pokemon games on Nintendo platforms. Some exceptions include a few Pokemon apps and TCG games for Smart phones but we haven't seen any main RPG Pokemon games appear outside of Nintendo consoles yet.

Hype!

Looks ok.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
