It looks like the PS4 actually outsold the XB1 by about a 3:1 ration in Jan/Feb, instead of the 2:1 ratio using current charts.

Not sure what Microsoft's next move will be.

Or maybe X1 is undertracked as well ;)

You're playing a dangerous game there, vivster :p

Well, well, well, it appears someone owes me an apology.

The PS5 Exists.

Looks like the ps4 will actually pull a ps2 numbers after all. Congratulations to sony. Now, all what I want is for the PS3 to hit the 100 million.

Sony should be happy with these numbers, they are closer to that 50% market share the Wii never had.

Breakdown of that 20.2m

~1.2m in Japan by the end of February.
~6.9m in the US by the end of January
About 3m-4m between France,UK and Germany by the end of 2014.

That leaves 8m-9m consoles for everywhere else-

That's nuts, even the average weekly sales of the PS4 this year are higher than 200k, 50% marketshare will happen before the end of Q1, it it hasn't happened already.

I think France, UK and Germany sales of PS4 should be closer to 5m then between 3 - 4m. because somewhere i read that next gen consoles have sold 3.5m in UK by the end of 2014. I am not sure if its only for PS4 & XBO or also include WiiU

fantastic numbers. it seems like nothing can stop this train.

ohh and UNDERTRAAAAACCCCKKKEED!!

Very good sales. As we already more or less know sales numbers in USA and Japan, the PS4 is heavily undertracked in Europe and ROW. This why you see MS, these territories matter just as much as USA and UK if not more.

Meanwhile, in a land far far away...

Another monopolized generation without competition, that´s very possitive for the game industry. Or maybe not.

The message that the industry is getting now is very sad, we don´t need new good games, we don´t need to be honest, we don´t need to be different, we don´t need good exlusives, we only need hype, marketing and numbers to sell whatever we want.

Btw, congratulation for that numbers, is really a big achievement.

I'll be very shocked if this turns out to be the case.   A real slap in the face of haters.

Unfortunatetly I am not in the least bit serious.

We see so many crazy predictions around here, that it gets hard to differentiate who is being serious or not.
