The thing is though we will never be satisfied and you will never see 1080/60 for EVERY game. One the PS4 and X1 have not been truly maxed, so it is pointless. We are still seeing xgen releases and it is holding new consoles back a bit. The main point here however is that devs will always push the limits of consoles and people will either complain that it "doesn't look next gen" when cuts are made or "the console is so weak" when frame rate or resolution do not reach 1080/60 for the purpose of adding new visual elements to the game.

Two people dont want to have to drop 400 plus dollars every few years for a new system. If this cycle ever happened, I would go exclusively PC.

Three it would result in MAJOR losses for MS and Sony. The new consoles would always be sold at a loss and it would be hard to recoup R&D cost.

Bottom line, stop worrying about new consoles and enjoy the ones we have now, or you will never be able to enjoy the ones in the future because u will feel the same way then as you do now.

I'm really digging the Wii U.

The others got nothing new on offer, as I see it, so I don't mind if they get switched out.

Am I really the only one who already wants new consoles?

I mean if they introduced a new PS4/X1/WiiU at the end of next year that could play all games 1080p60 I couldn't be happier. They can keep their software but this hardware update can't come soon enough.

So who would buy a new console next year with BC included?

I don't mind the Wii-U because it provides (at least in my opinion) a fresh experience. I don't feel like I'm playing a more powerful Wii. PS4 and Xbox One feel like PS3 1.5 and Xbox 360 1.5 imo. Everything from the software, to controller, to... well, everything. It all just feels too similar. I have never experienced that before while making a generation leap, so yeah, I would bite if they released TRUE next generation consoles.

Yes, or at least I'd like to think that way. This gen needs to last 5-6 years at the very least.

I'm now filled with determination.

I'll be building a new rig this year, so no I'm with you. Today's consoles don't even hold a candle to my 5 year old rig.

At least for the Wii U, I couldn't agree more.

Funny, because I think the only one that truly doesn't need to is the Wii U. On the other hand the XBone and PS4 could use a new system to introduce some new gameplay features (and I'm not talking about optional things that will easily be disregarded by developers). Like a new system that would drop when Morpheus comes out.

I think it would help the Wii U if Bayonetta 2 was actually playable instead of constantly dipping below 30fps.

All 3 consoles desperately need hardware updates.

I'm taking it you never played Bayo 2 if you think it is unplayable. Unplayable games don't tend to get scores in the 90s. Plus, your definition of constantly dipping below 30fps must be different than mine.

From what I seen the frames only dropped that low in a transition from crazy gameplay action into a cutscene.

The PS4 and Xbone should be replaced by new consoles 2016 to appease their "power loving" fans.

The Wii-U should stay around until 2018 so that the successor can launch with a new Zelda.
