I stopped caring about E3, reviews and console wars a long time ago. I used to spend my time playing and replaying games. Was a huge masturbator too. Looked at pornographic videos of people cosplaying as video game characters (both male and female, I'm bisexual). I think it's unhealthy to play geames more than 1hour a week now because gaming is unhealthy for the soul and mind, but I still frequent gearming forums as often as before I had my existential crisis to convince geamers that they're addictive and a waste of time and I'm on a mission to fix them.

Playing to many games and all the time is a waste of time. Cause lets be honest. Its a game. Its not real.

If you play sometimes its entertainment.

You see we dont live forever and it would be a sad story that the legacy says u gamed all your life on that chair.
Neglect the human thing. Marry and have kids. Do fitness have a fight in the ring to evolve your fighting potential.

Game addiction is a bad thing and i learned it. I sold
Sega master system
Sega dreamcast
Sega saturn
Ps1 ps3
Xbox360

All i have left is a megadrive with flash cart. So also the games are sold

This gen i have xbone and wiiu. The wiiu is for family and fitness. Ofcourse bayonetta is ok

Replaying games is also a waste of time. What is done is done. Memories are in your head. Nostalgia is best placed to just remember. If you go back to the days u will find out its outdated. Excep streets of rage ;). Streets of rage is the best game ever.

All with all im concerned about the youth. The agenda of the west womanizes man and makes them sit on a chzir back to back. Being angry is a weird thing nowadays. If u get mad they will take u to the pshyciatrist. (No joke about it)
Stop playing to much.. Reclaim your family bonds hug your wife kids. Have sex with your wife. Visit your already getting old parents.

I converted to islam that worked for me.
And whatever works for you to balance your life do it. But dont overly play games. Your missing out on the world over fictive matters

I'm sorry, but you lost me once you mentioned religion. I understand you're not trying to push Islam onto us and I do completely agree with quite a few things you said. About half the time anything like this is said about anything, it's coming from a religious person. The huge flaw for me in that is to realize this stuff you don't need religion. I feel a big percentage join religion because they are lost and need guidance to fix their lives to there liking. So what they do is they look at which religion beliefs reflect the person they want to become the most. Up until here you're doing great, all the power to you. Religion becomes fundamentally as soon as it becomes organized. That's when's many other side effects of religion come to place (thinking someone's relgion is better than the next, trying to convert people, dedicating your entire life to it). These negative side effects only become worse the more and more religions there are.  Sorry for getting so off topic about religion but this aspect of it always bothered me. The point I'm trying to make is you (or anyone in that matter) can be the person they want to be with or without religion. It just takes patience, discipline, and wanting to actually change yourself

Well yeah once gaming interferes with your work, relationships, and life in general it's overboard, but I think 95%+ of people here maintain a good balance and do gaming as a hobby/competitive thing to do off-time.

What is the exact difference between gaming all day and playing soccer all day? One is seen as "demonic" or a "waste of time" by ignorant/misguided people and the other is seen as a fun, socially acceptable way to spend a Saturday. The only difference is perception by others.

Playing football could bring benefits for your health. Playing video games don't add absolutely nothing, nor quit, at least if you have a balance.

However, playing any of the two things all day is dangerous equally.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Do whatever floats your boat... Esiar is at a point when he realizes he derives little substantial gain/joy from gaming, and so, time to give it up without investing too much thought into it.

There is no universal laws as to what is worthwhile or not, and what the universe dictates as valuable ways to send the time... Life is what you make of it, and its true, where you put your energy, focus and time, that is where you are and will continue to be until your energy, focus and time is put in a differention direction.

I like travelling, meeting new people, entertainment and some work... No need to over-analyze... Just chill and do what resonates with yourself, and offers you more feelings of gratification and contentment.

Okay technically true. I guess I should have said playing guitar or something less physical.

I think balance is key like you're saying and a large majority of people here have that. I read about family life, love life, interests in sports, politics, religion, TV, social issues, music, and so many other aspects people here have with their own lives. I hate that video games gets all the criticism and condemnation as a scapegoat for time wasting when it factors way beyond that. Condemning all video games and telling us all to give them up doesn't address the imaginary issue and that is what bugs me about op.

I find politics, investing energies in social issues now to be a big waste of time ;---p im not a family person either, and never will be ;--p.   See there, one mans percieved rightful path, is anothers demise...

Politics is ripe with anger, criticism, violent intentions, manipulation and monetary interests...  It was fun to be into it for a while, now im trying to distance myself as much as possible because it just gives me the yuck.

Haha, I see where you're coming from. :P

My point is the OP makes it seem like there's a video game addiction problem here, but an addiction means that you can't live/function without it. I see many people here with different interests, responsibilities, and things they do that they can easily move on to if video games suddenly disappeared. It's not life-interfering, it's just an aspect of our lives and we shouldn't be criticized for it.

I could be wrong, but you seem to be mocking me. If so, edit the bisexual and cosplaying part out and put in straight and hentai (and porn porn)

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

Gaming is more of a hobby for me. I like it because it passes time and well, they're fun. Just like playing a game of cards. However, both are technically a "waste of time" by using your logic. Everything technically is (especially school subjects that you know you will never use in your intended career path) so saying gaming is a waste of time is a little too harsh. Yes, there are times where it is too far, but times where it isn't. If it interferes with work/personal life then there is too much. If it doesn't and you play them in a hobby type of way, then its fine. I know this because of my older sister who is a complete idiot and wasting her entire life. (She almost got her 2 year degree, dropped out of school one month before getting her degree, moved away and is now sitting at her computer 24/7 and making Youtube videos as a "job".

THAT is too far. However, playing on your free time is not. So, this subject varies.
