Forums - Gaming - Do you get emotionally attached to video game characters?

I always feel attached to a character especially if the story of the game or for the particular character is really good and unforgettable.

Quite honestly though, i get the feeling you are just acting detached because you want to. Its ok Osed, you arent any less if you can imerse yourself in entertainment. It doesnt rob you of anything in real life. Actually makes one more interesting.
Dont be that guy whose hobby is fishing and only topic of conversation is how he bones his girlfriend when you ask him what they do together while using a shirt that says he is different and original. No one likes that guy.

Well that was harsh.

Meh I don't care what a guy says on the internet.

I feel sad when I see the news and see all the poverty and killing around the world. I feel sad for my friends and family when stuff happens to them.

But fictional characters? they aren't real, so their pain doesn't affect me in the slightest.

I certainly have before, but which characters they were it`s currently drawing a blank. I`ll respond again if I remember. I keep saying this, but Walking Dead, man... : )

Doesn't stop it from being harsh. If you don't care about any fictional character I figured you wouldn't care about what people say on the internet. The thing is, if you don't care about people on the internet, why bother joining a forum in the first place?

I don't care on a personal level (meaning when they flame and stuff like that, should have been more specific), it's cool seeing other people's opinion and talk about games in general.

It's also fun to troll from time to time.

not anymore, i cant find myself caring about any characters in todays gaming world

what about those little pikmin ?

Uuuugh, the Pikmin... Sometimes playing Pikmin is so hard because even one loss of a pikmin makes me so sad... : ( I was devastated when I got a bunch of pikmin crushed by a fat steamroller red creature thing...

Ace Attorney has made me attached to its characters considering its a visual novel. Also it's not surprising to hear Emile talking about the characters from Xenoblade like that considering its his favorite game.

Got attached to the Characters in TLoU, FFXIII, The Walking Dead and Uncharted.

I rarely get emotionally attached to any characters in any medium. There's plenty that make me feel various things but never attachment.

Mass Effect series... Plenty of characters to attach on there... It's probably the only time I had shed a tear playing a game.
