Forums - Sales Discussion - Any chance that MLB '08 The Show debutting in top 5 of US software chart

@ Zen

I feel the same, but I might rent. I loved the N64 Ken Griffey Baseball game.

It'll probably make top 10, but I doubt top 5.

This could easily happen. It's been ranking high on Amazon for quite some time.

Anyone have that Picard picture handy?

1) 87,497
2) 51,752
3) 42,689
Last years edition sold 87k first week on the PS2.

If the numbers don't drop considerably from last year it definetly has a chance at making the top 5.

I don't think the PS3 version has a chance at making the top 5 however. It might make the top 10. Sales should be up from last years release, due to larger install base, but I wouldn't expect more then 65k first week sales.

With all reorts it should do better.  Since apparently people are giving it the nod over 2k8... Show 07 was bad.

after seeing last yr MLB number i highly doubt that it will make it into top 5.

Top 5? No
Top 10? Maybe

Seeing the lack of interest on MLB thread it look like its going to bomb.

Are baseball games that popular? I've never really played any baseball games since maybe the NES days.
I'd say the PS2 version probably has a better chance of making the top 10 over the PS3 version, simply because of the userbase.
