Forums - Gaming - The Order 1886 reviews proves gaming journalism is a farce and a disgrace. (9 out of 10)

Or other people just have a different opinion! Ever thought of that?

yea that, and then there's railroading, which does happen in reviewing games. back when Morgan Web reviewed Resistence 3, it seemed more like a 3/5 than 5/5.

then the number of cons made it not so much of a want, but you knew the score would be 5/5.

its example like why i feel its best to ignore the actual score and more focus on the content of the review or just for review scores to die all together

which is what i did with The Order i watch and read impressions/reviews and didn't really care much for the actual score

I tend not to look at scores and instead focus on the substance of what a review says. The Order certainly has a fair list of things I don't like seeing too much in games, so I'd most likely have to disagree with your opinion. If a friend asked me if I would recommend The Order... I'd say no, and state my reasons. It'd be then up to my friend if my reasons were reasons that would cause them to avoid the game as well.

It's great that you enjoyed the game, but you need to realize not everyone will agree with your opinion and that's okay. There's games out their that I found amazing that weren't greatly reviewed or received.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

Picked up my preorder today so I am truly hoping your review of the game is accurate OP. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the game and I hope I do as well. Luckily I am an Edge member with EB Games and they allow you to return the game within 3-7 days (depending on what level of membership you have) if you are unsatisfied with a game purchase.

Take a look at the final boss of this game. 65% is too high for this.

Ah yes, Microsoft paying every single reviewer, including many independent ones, great amounts of cash to make the Order 1886 look bad. How dare they. Maybe they should have paid them to say that Ryse was good too.

Never once said Microsoft paid anyone. Yeah, discredit my valid rembarks by straw maning what I said entirely. This game is not a 1 out of 5. Period. Opinion or not. A professional reviewer who rates it such has no credibility. And it is a FACT that he worked at Xbox The Magazine. Irrefutable. It's hard to find that coincidence.

Very few people gave it a 1 out of 5, most reviews were 3 out of 5. Also, you said reviewers have a major bias for Microsoft, which in turn implies that Microsoft is in their pockets.

Your argument makes no sense. If they were so biased, why did they not give Ryse glowing reviews, and why were Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us higher rated than almost any other Xbox exclusive?

The reality is that you happen to like a game that most perceive as mediocre at best. Enjoy it, but what you think doesn't reflect what the majority think.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

You like the movie while most others do not. Accept it. We want games. No movies with black bars that hinder the visibility of the brain dead enemies. From what I have seen this movie is the biggest piece of crap of this generation. It does literally everything wrong. The characters are boring, there is no colour (its grey), the gameplay has been done a million times before, it is short, it has predictable 'press button to win' QTE nobody finds intriguing anymore. Graphics don't make the game, ever.

Well, if MS is paying everyone, then how bad is Ryse REALLY, especially considering I personally like it very much, basically for the reasons op stated for the order :).
