Agreed.
I still see people who are seriously overexpecting on what the PS4 can do.
The PS4 is not powerful enough to have a 1080p standard. None of the consoles are. In fact, 1080p won't be the standard this generation, anyone thinking it would be was expecting too much. If you really want 1080p as standard then just build a gaming pc.
It's like people refuse to believe that even though the PS4 is the most powerful console this generation, it's still not powerful enough for what they want. It's exactly why you see a lot of resolutions such as 900p.
I also agree that a developer shouldn't go for 1080p at the cost of something else such as framerate. Can't hit 60fps while at 1080p? Then just lower the resolution a bit and make it 720p60fps or something like that. It's either that or have the game be 1080p30fps, because the consoles just aren't powerful enough to do that. (They can with quite a few games, but it's very specific-wise on what type of game it is).
