They cover Nintendo, that's enough proof that they don't hate them. The recent BAFTA awards or some crap like that is the example of Nintendo hate.

I've seen GameSpot sporting ads from EA before. I think we all know what that means.

I don't know about the other three, but the reviewer of Tropical Freeze got bashed for being so whiny about the difficulty of the game.

People are allowed to express there opinions, and a handful of harsh reviews doesn't necessarily mean they hate Nintendo.

There are instances where Gamespot have showed Ninty love, for example Bayonetta 2, Super Mario Galaxy and they gave A link between Worlds Game of the Year over the Last of Us (greatest butthurt comment section of that particular year).

Polygon on the other hand...

Had a run in recently with a Polygon journalist my good friend is buddies with. While I find his views on eastern culture xenophobic, he is entitled to it; even though many don't agree with it; myself included.

Now, towards the OP, people have different views based on different objective points. Be it the same mechanics GameSpot was irate about, or IGN's infamous internet meme sensation in 'Too Much Water', keep in mind that it is an opinion. Your opinion is what counts, not theirs. I wouldn't worry too much about the scoring mechanism anyway. Other sites offering similar opinions predicated around the same praises/criticisms is what you should be going after. They normally are right in instances like this, otherwise the animosity is usually something to be easily ignored.

But they gave Zelda ALBW game of the year in 2013...just putting that out there.
