23k

Ehhh fine, I might be underestimating Xenoblade. Still, that 80k-100k is too high for DQX, version 2.0 opened with less than 70k and it came out in December. I'd also argue that people with the Dragon Quest thirst will settle with Heroes, I know they're vastly different games, but still. As for the 100% boost, what will WiiU numbers be by then, 4k maybe 5k? Not precisely a huge increase (not to mention the first to versions of DQX were bundled), I doubt the increase will be that big and the increased numbers will likely be low anyway. Fine, maybe 20k-ish if its lucky. |
Going by MC, the Ver. 1 opened with 367K on the Wii. It opened with 33K on the Wii U.
Ver. 2 opened up with 111K on the Wii, and 70K on the Wii U.
I think it's safe to assume there is a rise with this. 90K is definitely reasonable.

DQX 3.0 Is an expansion, you need to have the base game in order to play it I believe, so why are people thinking that there would be some rise in Wii U hardware because of that? Unless they have console bundles that include both previous versions or they ship more copies of the "All-in-one DQX" packs, the expansion will do nothing to hardware numbers.
Xenoblade X will probably cause a hardware bump, maybe 20K. Stuff like 15K seems kinda low for a system that managed 22K during DQX HD port base game launch week.
