So on one side of things I personally don't care about the length.  As long as it has a good story and fun enough gameplay thats all that matters to me.  In fact plenty of other games are on the shorter side ranging from 5-10 hours.  However if he is lying would that not fall under false advertisent as well as turn off a lot of gamers who believed in Ready at Dawn?

So this is where the question lays.  Who is lying?  Is it the YouTuber or Ready at Dawn? Either way you look at it, this will be a controversial release with either the haters being wrong, or the people praising it being wrong.  The threads will be chaos I'm sure.

After a youtube channel posted a "supposed" complete walkthrough of The Order 1886 that took an entirety of 5.5 hours including cutscenes
The Order by Ready at Dawn CEO Ru Weerasuriya, as told through Eurogamer, in response to the concerns about playtime.

“I know there are numbers out there,” he said. “I know why the question comes up. I know numbers have been put out there that are actually not right. It’s impossible to finish the game in that time, so we know the numbers are wrong.”

“Do we all need to do the same thing?” he asks. “I hope people who do like these kind of games, do play them. But I also want to be in an industry where me as a gamer, I’m given the choice to do that. I’ve played games that lasted two hours that were better than games that I played for 16 hours. That’s the reality of it.”

Note: I am done commenting on clickbait rumors about game length, "downgrade" idiocy and such nonsense. Don't bother asking.

I think the only way we're gonna know for sure is when we all actually go out and buy the game in a few days and play it ourselves. There's been too many conflicting stories for my liking; all I know is it looks good and I'll (hopefully) enjoy playing it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wait, what is there to doubt in the YT video actually? Was it missing something? Did it leave something out? And I read guy wasn't "rushing" at all, just didn't pick up everything he got hinted on during the walkthrough.
So there was actual evidence on YT, how can anyone say it is impossible to beat that game in the time the youtuber did?

It doesn't bother me that the game is short. I will probably finish it in some 8-10 hours, so about a week for me.
But to answer your question, I don't think that Youtuber is lying, I believe it is possible for him to have finished it under 6 hours.

I think RAD are pissed because to them, they've made an awesome game and people are just talking about the length, rather than the visuals or storytelling.

Most story games - if cutscenes are skipped - can be spedrun in a matter of hours, unless they drag the time on by unskippable events.

The games gonna be a fair 10-14ish hours it seems on normal/hard, and apparent replay value. If that's too short for people, then by all means wait till the price drops, but spreading false information like the game is 5 hours long is extremely unfair to those devs who have been working on it (apparently since they finished gowpsp)

Sigh, why do they need to comment on the length for? everyone is going to have a different play time. Others have said they got 8-12 hours from it. They arent going to say that youtube video is right or wrong cause its both.

And it's not like anyone else on GAF or elsewhere who claim to have played it as well accused him of cutting parts. The only thing people are saying is that he "rushed" and didn't pick up collectibles.

The Dev saying what he did is impossible is honestly pretty lolz

If you are not sure how long it will gonna take, just wait for the review. But i am sure RAD will not make game shorter then Gears of Wars. It's third person shooter like gear of wars, it will have the same length more or less.

They should've decided to not respond, tbh. This is even more worse than saying nothing as they discredit the youtube guy and make him look like a liar while they should know how much hours their on game takes.

That said, GAFers who reported 10+ hours gameplay had nothing they could prove their time. The only proof was/is on youtube for everyone to check.

He could have been reffering to the 3hour rumor that was going around.
