KingdomHeartsFan said: It was the best SP experience of that year. I'm just using your logic. "Its an outstanding [SP] that plays like no other and just for that jusifies $60." It actually won GOTY awards from credible outlets to back that up, unlike you saying Titanfall was the best MP experience of the year lol. |
Production values.
That's why Titanfall costs 60 dollars and Journey less, there's no point of comparison here.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

MS has only one FPS IP and one TPS IP. Nintendo will have a similar amount of shooters with Splatoon. But Xbox is the dudebro console? Does that make sense? |
Its considered the dude, bro console because Microsoft much like Activision EA aim commercially for the same market. Of course Sony has done the same, but has never penetrated shooter audiences like Microsoft has. When people buy shooters on Sony's console its mostly for the story and great gameplay, on Microsoft its purely for the multiplayer. Xbox Live is known for having the most competitive gamers on the platform for COD because of MLG and everything. Sony is considered to be the artsy fartsy company and sometimes that works to their detriment. Microsoft actively pursues FPS and MLG crowds and much like COD its something that Sony is going to have to learn how to make their platform seem as it has an equivalent offering.
Splatoon is going to be a strategic yet novel TPS. I love the concept. Its so Nintendo to surround themselves with new ideas much like Sony.

I don't actually think Journey should be $60, I was making a point...

As I was making another. Titanfall is a AAA game, so of course EA in their right mind should charge 60 dollars for the title. Is it worth it? I certainly don't know, as I don't own the game, but then again, it depends on the player.

Actually it would have been ignored. sort of like what is happening with Evolve had it gone multiplat. The fact it was exclusive helped with hype ALOT (same thing is happening with the Order now, people who would have never bought it will because of the talk, and some people who would have had no interest in it anyways feel the need to bash it).
Now TF is a known franchise it will get plenty of attention with the second installment comes and goes multiplat. XB1 gamers will want it because many liked the 1st one, PS gamers will get it because they missed the 1st and like the fact it is now on their console.
psn- tokila
add me, the more the merrier.

Excellent point. If it was multiplat nobody would be talking about it and it would be remembered as an average shooter with massive potential for the sequel.

You have no credit in my book because you simply disregard facts to fuel your hatred towards a company.

More than half of the top selling games there are shooters. Sony has waaaay more shooters IPs than MS.
Your arguments never coincide with reality.

I know that its the Playstations top ten sellers were shooters dominantly third party shooters. I am saying in competition with Microsoft and the way they market themselves. Focus, dude...focus. This wasnt done in any malicious way, but ask anyone out on the street why Microsofts console would be considered the dude, bro console of the big three they would probably agree. Its because most of the titles they focused on from their creation to today focused on competitive play. Even though Sony has sold pretty well with such games, Sony is known for so much more than just those games because of what they offer outside of it. This is my point.
If you're going to tell me that Sony has just as much of a presence in MLG as Microsoft does i'll say you must be joking. Dude bros love high occtaine AAA action games (primarily shooters) and competitive sports games (on consoles). The only reason the majority would use Playstation over Xbox is because thats where the majority of the hype and competition would be for said game. I know a couple of godly COD gamers who refuse to buy a Playstation version of the game purely because of community.
Dude bros are stereotypically overly masculine men and buy games which reflect the mentality. The Xbox is the perfect console for said men with offerings like Gears of War, Halo, along with all of the third party treats and they purchase the yearly sports installments. Not saying those games are bad, in fact I love them as well.
Microsoft is better at marketing their brand as the competitive console and Sony is always playing catch up in that area. Sony is better at other things and Microsoft tries to match them where they shine.
