Forums - Gaming - Current Nintendo-affiliated franchises

Nintendo always gets crap for rehashing the same games over and over, and while Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon do get disproportianally more represented, I think there are far more different franchises on current Nintendo consoles than people realize. So I decided to look into it and using the magnificence of Wikipedia, have created a list, sorted by platform of origin, of all franchises that are exclusive to Nintendo platforms. This includes franchises (need to have at least 2 games) that are on either 3DS or Wii U, both Nintendo developed/published and third party that are traditionally housed on Nintendo platforms, at least for the forseeable future. I might be going back to this as more games are announced over time, and will probably also make similar threads for Xbox and PlayStation. PC and mobile ports are excluded for no particular reason.

Wonderful 101 isn't a franchise, its a single game. As for Bayonetta... hmmm, judging by Kamiya's comments on wanting to continue it on Nintendo platforms... yea ok, I'll add it.

Maybe Splatoon? For now it's one game, but I'm sure it will do well enough to get a sequel. The same with Pokken Fighters. Does Nintendoland count as part of the Wii series or it's own IP?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm not counting stuff like Nintendo Land or Splatoon until we have an announcement of a series continuation. Nintendo Land is a unique IP and would be counted as such.

Much to my dismay, Wario Land is not current. Needs a new release on 3DS or Wii U.

Ditto. I'm surprised it's been so long too. It's unlike Nintendo to not milk any platformers they can.

Especially ones that sell well, all of the handheld entries sold over 2 million
