Ah, but this is Nintendo we're talking about here. Releasing a new Wario Land would be an intelligent business decision that would make financial sense and would make people happy. Nintendo's not well known for decisions involving financial sense.

Swap Mario Tennis with Metroid Tennis for example.
And have Metroid, Kid Icarus and Starfox come out as frequently as Kirby damn it.

You forgot Metroid, F-zero, Waverace, 1080, Battalion wars, Mario tennis & Mario strikers.

Metroid Tennis would be absolutely hilarious. Know that you mention that, I just looked into it, and Star Fox and Metroid sell about as well Kirby traditionally has... Hmmm, guess Kirby must be real cheap to make.

Much to, well everybody's, disappointment, none of those are current. Needs a new release for Wii U or 3DS. Smash representation doesn't count.

Does Metroid Prime Trilogy download for Wii U count?

Nope, needs to be a new release. Even if Prime Trilogy never released on Wii and was only on Wii U, it still wouldn't count because it's a collection of ports.

All except Mario Tennis isn't current. How the hell did I miss Mario Tennis...

Why does it matter if their last installments are recent? They could bring these franchises back in the near future, you just don't know.

I just wanted to make a list of franchises that are current for curiosity's sake. Simple as that.
