Ready at Dawn is ready to leave the PSP

God of War: Chains of Olympus fans were dealt a slight blow today as Ready at Dawn, the developer behind the critically acclaimed PSP title, said they're bowing out from any future development on the platform.

At the Ready at Dawn news site, an unnamed developer posted a response to numerous emails that had asked about a follow up to Chains of Olympus as well as about any future plans with the PSP.

Said the posting: "As usual, the first order of the day is a much deserved break for the team so that we can enjoy spending our time reading what the fans think of the game ... Moving forward, we can confirm that Chains of Olympus will be our last PSP game as we're moving on to other projects and other ideas on other consoles."

And for the salt in the wound portion of today's post, Ready at Dawn disclosed there are no plans for a PS2 Chains of Olympus port.

"We can also confirm that this will be our first and last God of War game as, just like Daxter before it, there will NOT be a PS2 port of the game. We like our games PSP exclusives," the post said.

Um, Joel is sad about this because he likes his PSP more than his DS.

And or Wii. They are currently working on a great stuff Wii game.  Developing Wii games in not much more expensive than PSP games but the potential sales are far better.

Yes sir, what should I call you, sir? Also, I wasn't even talking to you. And, oh, I normally don't take orders from 15 year olds. Hell, if I normally ignore Lt. Cols and such, why would I listen to your orders?

last psp game huh. could mean a lot of differnt things really. the two that seem most likely to me are they are in the know about a psp2 and will start development there or that they just lost faith in the platforms ability to sell software.  all we can do is speculate.

That is too bad for Sony fans. I was hoping they'd port it too PS2 as well.
But I guess we'll all have to look forward to GoW3
