Eh, I didn't have too many problems using it, though in Monster Hunter I used the L button for the camera much more often.

It's not unusably bad, just a bit annoying. To me, anyway; your mileage may vary.

I've reached Tetsucabra and my armor isn't holding up.

What armor are you using?  I managed to defeat the Tetsucabra without needing any armor sphere +.

I misspoke, I meant +, not Adv.

I'm using full Alloy at the moment.

Whoops, my bad.  Anyways from what I can gather you can't get any armor sphere+ until the Frozen Seaway.

Thanks anyway, guess I'll just have to play better...

EDIT: Beat him. Turns out I just needed to learn his patterns and keep my shield up during his swipe + charge attack instead of trying to punish after the swipe.

One thing which annoys me, as curl eluded to, is that you never have enough Armour Spheres. They're too rare and too important to make the game manageable for my liking, but I suppose that's the point. An awful lot of it comes down to your skill, and less so your armour. Because if you're good you shouldn't be being hit.
