In other words, the sales pattern may have changed, but overall gen 8 is looking pretty healthy for everyone but Nintendo


It was 80% higher at one point, so it seems the gap has been decreasing, not good especially because PS4 and Xbox One are the top two seeling consoles and last gen PS3 and 360 were second and third, shows that the gaming market is moving to mobile phone and tablets it seems, such a shame.

It's more like the Wii crowd have moved to mobile and pads and the 360 ps3 base is growing between x1 and ps4.

That just makes things even worse, wow.


No it proves how utterly irrelevant these comparisons are. Do you honestly think the xbox one won't easily outsell the original xbox?  Ps4 will easily outsell ps3 and most likely the ps1.

No offense but January 2008 is when they discounted and discontinued the 20GB and 60GB skews and prices were heavily slashed as retailers will trying to get rid of stock post holidays. This is on top of the November's $399 40GB skew that was just released in November.  I know because this is when I got my 60GB skew for $299.

Wii and 360 were also massively out of stock in december. Making January 2008 inflated.

Not sure bout PS2.

It's fascinating reading that thread. The war of words between "the cube crowd " and "xbox enthusiasts " is hilarious.  I thought fanboy wars started with the ps3, 360 and wii.

I recommend you all take a look.
