With all these talk about the spiritual successor of Banjo-Kazooie, it got me interested in how this new project will progress. Basically I'm asking you guys if Banjo-Kazooie as a platformer can be compared to Jak and Daxter, are they equally fun? Now, I've played Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak III (which I enjoyed both quite a lot) also I've played Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts(only Banjo-Kazooie I've played) and I know that one is not a platformer and yeah I enjoyed it too(please don't bash me), so any suggestions? Should I play the first Banjo-Kazooie( how many are there btw) first, though I don't have the necessary console for that only emulator, or do you think this successor can be an equal or better game than the previous B-K you guys loved before Nuts and Bolt? Btw, I compared this two because they both have their partner on their body most of the time .

As for Banjo-Kazooie, if you played Mario 64 (and if you didn't get to that) then you know what to expect. It's a great platformer with a lot of charm. Not quite as good as Mario 64 but close.

Banjo-Tooie on the other hand was just OK. Way too much to collect and mediocre at best level design. Just too many ideas going on at once.

Did you like Jak 3 though? Yeah I guess it wasn't much of a platformer( I only added it just to mention what I played and I love the desert with a dune buggy to roam them with :D).

I see, only played Mario 64 from a friend on only 2 levels though.

I had to choose neither because I never played those 2 games.

First, please don't download the games illegally and play them via emulator. Buy an N64 and some second-hand cartridges or download the ports on Xbox Live.

Second, if you enjoy the The Precursor Legacy, I'm sure you'd enjoy Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Along with Psychonauts, Precursor Legacy is the closest thing we've seen to the Banjo games since Rare ended its partership with Nintendo.

Finally, I'd also recommend Grunty's Revenge on GBA. It's an "interquel" that takes place between Kazooie and Tooie. It's not nearly as good as the console Banjo games but it's still an enjoyable game.

Oh psychonauts, how I missed that game, too bad my CD got scratched so bad I've given up on it .

You definitely need to give the N64 Banjo games a try, specially since you seem to enjoy the original Jak!
