Stuff like this always happens after ownership changes hands.
My guess that after Planetside 2, neither PS4 nor XOne will see any of Daybreak games getting ported over. I expect H1Z1 for PS4 to get cancelled in the next three months.

When SOE was bought they explicitly said they were gonna work on Xbox and PlayStation games (and of course other platforms such as PC). Would be quite strange to change that course after 9 days.

point me to a source where that was stated?   all i saw was one guy that got bought out make a bitter tweet about working on xbox.

i'm with burek.  ain't shit going to consoles now.   maybe planetside 2 on ps4 but i wouldn't be surprised if that is canned too.

''This means that effective immediately SOE will operate as an independent game development studio where we will continue to focus on creating exceptional online games for players around the world, and now as a multi-platform gaming company. Yes, that means PlayStation and Xbox, mobile and more!''

Around the Network

This was expected now that Sony isn't footing the bill for their losses.

It makes sense when it was more or less bloated with staff, only problem is they forgot to layoff Smedley.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Someone on the H1Z1 subreddit made a list of people who are confirmed to be laid off and on what game(s) they worked
http://www.reddit.com/r/h1z1/comments/2vmp48/master_list_of_developers_affected_by_the_layoffs/
EverQuest franchise: 14 employees laid off
Planetside 2: 7 employees laid off, 1 resigned
H1Z1: 3 employees laif off, 1 resigned
DC Universe Online: 1 employee
General Staff: 4 employees
Total: 29 employees laid off, 2 resigned

Hopefully they'll all find a new job soon

They barely ever ported anything to Playstation when they were with Sony. I don't see them making very many console games in the future with a much smaller dev team. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Planetside 2 is the last console game they released for years.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
