If they called it PS2P, and it was actually able to play ps2 games on the go, then -> $$$.
i dont think the name is the problem, nor the marketing, nor the game library. The problem is with the crazy expensive memory cards. How is a memory card going to be just as expensive as the unit itself. makes no sense

I see what you're saying, so there is XYZ that caused the Vita to fail, but if it had a better name(PSP 2), people may have been more inclined to buy it and silly Parent's would've bought it for kids simply because they remember the PSP. Which in turn could've cause XYZ that are the real problems to not be problems?

It has more to do with the memory cards being so expensive, oh and of course, mobile gaming.

So many products had a huge success with a stupid name that I think has very little influence in the success of a product.
The problem is that that Sony did again what already failed : a powerful device, with a good screen, but little battery, expensive, facing the Nintendo domination on portable, and relatively expensive to develop for. They just added one more huge challenge : "and we will fight with the huge smartphone market that already give everyone a powerful device with a good screen and games".
Not to blame the product, I think the vita is cool, and I even wanted to buy it, before the lack of support and games made me think again. Anyway, don't blame the name !
