Forums - Sony - What if the Vita was called PSP 2 or something like that?

IMHO it wouldn't have changed much... and the same goes for the Wii U. Names are nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Most people don't base their purchasing decision for a handheld or home console on the name but on the content (the games they can play on the device).

When the PSP was popular standard memory cards weren't as cheap as they are now.  Games are also bigger now so they require a bigger memory card then most PSP games did which would turn into more of a reason for cost concerns.

Physical sales are still big part of games sales if you are not interested in buying games digital you don't need a big memory card 4 gb is enough to save games and even put some music

doesn't everyone usually argue that PSvita is doing ok even though the local store only caries less then a dozen vita games because the Vita biggest strength is the digital store front?

A PSP2 would have easily sold significantly better. I agree.

Vita has a lot of indie and they are digital it inflate the percentage severely

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
