Forums - Nintendo - Is my Wii U broken?

I was on the internet channel on my wiiu when my gamepad said that it disconnected from my wiiu so I turn around and see my poer button is blinking red and it doesnt respond to anything so I unplugged the wiiu and still need to wait a while for the light to stop blinking and I connect it again and it seems is working again but after 3 minutes it stop working again so I try to make it work by unplugging it but after a while it stops working again and I came here to see if anyone knows whats wrong with it

is there anything interfering with the signal because if there is that may be the reason like something solid between the gamepad and the console so is it still doing it now I mean have you tried connecting it again because sometimes these things just happen unless it's the battery because it could be low on power so you will want to make sure that it is fully charged since it uses bluetooth maybe there is some kind of interference nearby but I am not sure how that would happen because I don't own a smartphone but you may want to send it to nintendo for repairs if that doesn't work but I don't know so good luck

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

I'd try a re-sync.

I don't understand, what's blinking red exactly? The Wii U or the Gamepad? If is the Gamepad, you need to recharge it, if your Wii U is the problem, then you should bring us more details, 'cause I don't understand your issue 100%.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Whats blinking red is my wiiu and there is nothing between the wiiu and the gamepaf

Unless you're referring to the GamePad, It sounds a lot like the console is heating up, and automatically powering down due to that. Check if the fan is working. A quick Google search should help you out there.

You should still call Nintendo customer service whether that is the problem or not.

I feel like someone had a similar problem in vgc and he fixed it by getting rid of the dust so see if there is any dust around the airholes of the console and clean it

What is not working, the Wii U or the Gamepad? If the Wii U is automatically shuting down after some few minutes it's probably overheating and it can be too much dust or a broken cooler (I don't have a clue of how the Wii U is built but it's what mostly makes PCs do this stuff). So stop using it now and try cleaning it and checking if it's cooler is working.
If the problem is only in the gamepad, I don't have a clue

If the Gamepad blinks red, the thing needs to be recharged almost immediately.

And as stated above, it could be sign of overheating, it happened to me once, though I'm not sure. Could be easily another thing.

Like I said before the console itself is what is blinking red, how can I check if the fans are dusty?

Look at the vents. Blow into them and see if any dust comes out. A can of compressed air should clean it out too.
