A TV series adaptation of a franchise that has a silent protagonist since the beginning. Wether it's good or bad, it's going to piss off a lot of people. They should have made an anime version of Ocarina of Time/ Majora's Mask. I can see that working well.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Impossible to tell, especially since it isn't even confirmed yet.

Netflix is still calling it rumors and speculation.

If they do go ahead with it, I can't imagine what direction they'll take. Saying it'll be like GoT is just sensationalism...

Could go either way.

This could be the best thing or the worst thing for Zelda.

And especially this.

There's going to be a mountain of pressure to make this a success because the Zelda fanbase expects A LOT from this IP.  If they were gonna do a Zelda, a big budget movie would work better. I don't see Netflix having the kind of resources to do the fanbase justice either.

The pessimist in me says that it will be poorly received at first, ending in premature cancellation. Then, 10 to 20 years from now, it will be viewed as a cult classic and everybody will talk about how awesome it was.

The optimist says that they'll do it right: story, acting, dialogue, and it will be a breakout success. I hope that's the case. :)

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

They don't even have a writer yet.

If it is good, yes. Unless classic fanboys are reviewing it.

If it is bad, no.

Genius conclusion.

Seeing as how there's no show, script, or even attached actors to talk about, it's impossible to say.

If you're asking does a well done Zelda Netflix series have the potential to be a hit? Yeah, sure, absolutely.

I think honestly it could be a big hit movie too if you had a good/decent script plus a well known cast (Jennifer Lawrence as Zelda) to go with it.

For that matter I think a Mario CG movie also has a lot of potential to be a hit. You just have to do these things right though.

Makes you wonder how Wall Street was able to find someone who knew about this and is the only one that got this info.

They should make all the characters speak gibberish and have subtitles. Just to drive the point home that The Legend of Zelda needs updating.
