I'm sure everyone here has heard the news of the Zelda series coming to Netflix, but if not the link is above. If you have heard the news, I was wondering, do you think the series will turn out well? A lot of videogame-to-tv show ideas usually turn out bad, or subpar at best, but I honestly think this one has a chance to go either way. The Zelda cartoons weren't as bad as some of the other shows back at the time, and since this is a live-action series, there could be lots of potential to make an awesome, non cheesy show. This could be a great show if executed properly

Okay I'm back... this can go either way. Hopefully it isn't cheesy and the action is actually good. I actually can't wait to see it now.

If they make it like Once Upon a Time with twist and WTF moments, it'll do fabulous.

I don't think it would be, if it was animated sure, I mean I don't think they'd make the same mistakes as the last time like Link sounding like a 90's bro surfer, but not live action.

It makes no sense to me, to be so defensive over their content on Youtube and it's "free advertising" yet allowing Netflix to create a show based on their greatest franchise that could easily be pirated and panned. Just seems a wee bit too silly to be true for some reason.

Not only that, but Netflix? Mario gets the movie treatment but Zelda gets stuck on Netflix?

It's a baseless rumor anyway, the guy on WSJ never backed it up with anything solid, and made a mountain out of nothing - "As it is still seeking a writer to work on the series, Netflix has a long road to travel before a "Legend of Zelda" series actually becomes a reality. It’s also possible that Netflix or Nintendo will kill the project before it gets off the ground.

A Netflix spokeswoman declined to comment. A Nintendo spokesman said the company "doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation."

Faaaar too early to say for sure. We'd need to see the cast and the writing team first before being able to make a guess like that.

If it is good, yes. Unless classic fanboys are reviewing it.

Probably. I wonder if bashing anything Zelda-related will even be considered nowadays.

For me it needs plot twists,at least two factions engaged in a political struggle,cliff hangers, a real sense of foreboding and danger and to realise its target demographic is not children but adults. Child freindly tho thinking lord of the rings style violence
