Pfft look how tiny the map is =P

FFXV

Calm down Im only joking. I pressume they wont just let you fly in your mech across the entire map though... would kind of break the game =P

The flaw here is the one Monolith showed is not to scale of it's world. It's just showing the areas. XV is showing to scale map. XCX is 400 Square kilometers. A lot bigger than that pic you are showing.

I'm not 100% sure, but from what I saw so for, I would say that the map is indeed to scale.

A bit off-topic (well, an extension really), but do we know how they measured XCX's world? Did they calculate the amount of traversal space, or did they do what most companies do and simply measure the size of a square placed over the map (so including the void spaces)?

Just curious as to if they've directly addressed that.

Monolith just directly said the size was 400sq KM in famistsu week or two ago.

btw someone translated the video and the map we saw is not the whole map. They are hiding some of it still

Thanks ^^ Their wording ("Mira is [x]") implies the latter method i mentioned rather than actual player space, but we'll see. A huge map regardless.

Yeah, someone mentioned that the image wasn't the whole map earlier.

Just want good gameplay above all else.

The systems and template established by XBC all but guarantees this, unless they somehow find a way to royally screw it up.

If the world has 4x the size of Xenoblade Chronicles, it cannot be that small. So there might be other continents / planets / unexplored areas.

The below video just shows the 1st 3 areas of the original game.

So that map confirms my suspicion. It's not more open world than the original was. Well at least it's more open world than DAI.
