Retro Studios asked Nintendo to do a sequel, not the other way around. Besides, it's not possible anymore to churn out as many games with such a small team on the Wii U like Rare did on the N64.

Retro > Rare

I think rare was better than retro, jet force gemini looked better than almost everything in that generation

Graphics wise perhaps, but Jet Force Gemini is not a good game. Anyway, you're allowed to think Rare is better than Retro. :p

What do you people even mean save the Wii U?  Like, getting it more sales? well nintendo is now making profit since 2014 of every Wii U sold, idk about xbox one and ps4. Yes Wii U sales could be way better, but even though its kinda of a competition with the other consoles nintendo are still doing fine overall, and i love my Wii U, and if it continues to have amazing games then it was worth a purchase of the Wii U. If other people dont buy the Wii U its fine, but enough people have bought the Wii U that it was worth making these awsome games on it, so they are gonna keep continue doing those games, like splatoon, will be probably be successfull enough!

Why do people keeping on thinking Nintendo made them work on Donkey Kong? They developed TF cause they wanted to and Nintendo defended their decision to do so instead of Metroid or any other game...

Because publishers decide the game, not the developers. Unless it's a top tier developer like Naughty Dog but even then they don't get to choose the games they want.

DKCR sold over 6 million, so Nintendo thought that's what people wanted.

What does 'save the wii u' even mean anymore?

Yeah, the ship has sailed a while ago now, Retro by itself would not be able to turn around the Wii U. They could built up the studio more though, perhaps get some more teams, and overall just do the best they can for the next couple of years.

Not when it comes to Nintendo... For example, Why do you think that Intelligent Systems is making a game like Project Steam instead of another Paper Mario or FE for wiiU? Its cause Nintendo has always been known to let their developers have as much time as they need in order to make games and choose whatever projects they want to do

Nintendo is the complete opposite of that. It's why they have Mario Party 10 instead of new IPs. They do what they think sales.

They thought Tropical Freeze would be a system seller. They were wrong.

It was retro de one that took the wrong decision, not Nintendo. Secondly, I doubt there will be more hype for them as their decision to develop Dk rather than Metroid or another game that showcase the power of the Wii U (like Zelda HD or XCX) made people, pr and gamers to lost any interest in them. They have to do something unexpected to achieve some attention again.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

They should create a 1st person Zelda.

Not really... They are releasing a few new IPs like Splatoon and Project Steam and Project Guard as well as Giant Robot...

And again, it was Retro's decision
