We know that the PSP as been dicontinued in US since january 2014, in Japan in June and in EU later in 2014, so PSP shipment  should definitly be lower than 250k because it sold arround 98k in japan in 2014 (the Handheld land where 3ds sales are ~3.3 Million for a WW sales of 7.08Million , so seem legit to assume that) which leaves us for a 3.5Million PSVITA/PSP shipement in 2014 to a 3.25M+ psvita shipement in 2014.  

Wii U shipment in 2014 is (9.2-5.86)=3.34M so the vita is supposed to have a similar sold through than the Wii U which leave us to a minimum of 2.9 M sold through, and the wii U numbers on shelves should be bigger due to the holliday shipment . According to VGC it sold 2.3 Million which leaves to a minimum of 600k undertracking.

Forthermore the PSVita shipement in Q3 is bigger than the PS3  one ( ~1.3M vs 1.1M) so definitly undertracked. So what do you think?

why should the vita have a similar sold through like wii u?
that doesn't make any sense.
different manufacturer. different distibution. even different markets where both "consoles" sell. (wii u as example is nearly non existent outside of japan, us and eu. vita sells also around the world. = more channels to stuff)


the 1.4m figure also includes playsation tvs. does vgc include them, aswell?


no ps vita is probably not undertracked by over 500k.

Well, if it's over 10M that's a surprise and we won't be able to tell if it was Vita or XB1 who broke the 10M barrier first.

This is the graph  until Q2, so assuming that PSP shipment went down form 2011 to 2013 and that ps vita shipment started in Q3 2011 it leaves us to a ~12M Shipment 

The Vita truly is one of my favourite systems out there. Hope this is accurate because it deserves the sales.
