The only way is cutting the price and focus on 3rd world countries.PS3 is seling pretty great on amazon USA thanks to a price cut...

True. Of course, I'm also pretty sure that the PS3  is undertracked.  I'll have to go over numbers tomorrow, but im guessing it has to be pretty close to 90M shipped by now.

I highly doubt that, it just sold(shipped) 1.1 for the last 3 months. Are you truly claiming it jumped from 80 million to close to 90 million in a year and a month?

The 80 million shipped announcement came from November 2, 2013. Of course, while those 2 extra months are November and December of 2013, I don't think shipments has hit 90M just yet.

OT: Great quarter by Sony. PS4 is quite a beast!

Maybe they think it doesn't matter anymore unless it break 100m.

At the rate its going I doubt PS3 will sell 15 million units in the next few years. Its legs won't be as strong as PS2's since it took an incredible nosedive when its successor released. Sony knows this to be true.

It'd be nice if they kept us up to date like Microsodt did with the Xbox 360 sales in May.

Yes:

Sony plans to shut down a facility in Oita Prefecture that makes system chips for the PlayStation 3 game console by the end of March 2016. Closure costs are seen as small and the facility's roughly 220 workers are expected to be transferred to Sony's image sensor plants or to other sites. Production of PlayStation components will be handled by another Sony chip-making facility.

You need to work on posting links that work. Your first post has two broken links. And so does the one above.

You could be a little nicer about it:

You're welcome.

Here's another one that needed to be fixed.

Is there any need to be like that? I just copied and pasted them here from Gaf and assumed they'd work like they do for most sites. I've changed the two in the OP but I can't find the third.

Dang, those are really great results.  Without the one time write-off for Sony Mobile, they would have ~$3 Billion operating income.

My 8th gen collection

And here's another story about Sony killing Music Unlimited and moving to Spotify!

Sony is killing its awful music service and bringing Spotify to PlayStation

Sony is doing better than expected.

Well, they may well be but I don't recall posting any other broken links. Like I said, I assumed the formatting on this site would do it automatically when I cut and pasted them.
