At the rate its going I doubt PS3 will sell 15 million units in the next few years. Its legs won't be as strong as PS2's since it took an incredible nosedive when its successor released. Sony knows this to be true.

It'd be nice if they kept us up to date like Microsodt did with the Xbox 360 sales in May.

Sony plans to shut down a facility in Oita Prefecture that makes system chips for the PlayStation 3 game console by the end of March 2016. Closure costs are seen as small and the facility's roughly 220 workers are expected to be transferred to Sony's image sensor plants or to other sites. Production of PlayStation components will be handled by another Sony chip-making facility.
