The only racing game I'm even interested in is 90's arcade racer. Other than that ,I find the racing genre rather dull

They sure did and Blur not selling good is one of the main reason they went out of business.
I used to love doing those long endurance racers on Gran Turismo 2 as a kid. Simulator racing is still fun to me but I find myself into the Horizon series a lot. It kinda got me back into the racing genre. I still enjoy playing any MK with friends but I only really invest my time in Horizon. I miss the old PGR's and Crash Team Racing though.

As chris hu said, but a lot of those guys works at playground studios who makes Forza Horizon.
