I don't think its right to pair console games with portable titles in the first round except in one or two cases. It makes choices too obvious and doesn't give the handheld entries a fair chance. I would have made it OoT vs ALttP, TLoZ vs Zelda II, SS vs TP, Four Swords vs MC, PH vs ST, WW vs MM, OoS vs OoA, LA vs ALBW. Paired better and much less predictable.


On the contrary, what you are suggesting would give the portable entries an unfair chance. If they can't compete with the home console games individually and need to take out each other in order to progress to the next round, they obviously don't deserve it.

As opposed to your suggestion that Ocarina of Time should go against A Link to the Past round 1? Clearly you don't know how seeding works.

 

If you want to know which handheld game wins over the others, ask for permission to make a separate competition.
