No chance after this horrible Darksiders 2 Wii U sales... Hell, this game would have sold even better on the Vita.

I don't think you understand late port and "would have sold better on the vita". This game would have sold jack shit on the Vita. I'd like to remind you of the critically acclaimed piss poor port of Borderlands 2 on Vita? According to VGChartz, 390k which I can guarentee you is mostly from the bundle.  That did worse than every version. If the game was on Wii U it would likely would have sold more than the Vita version. No one likes gimped console ports on mobile platforms.

The game had frame rate issues on the Wii U and PS3, the Vita version would have to be so scaled back that it wouldnt be worth it. With the Legend of Kay coming there is a really high chance Nordic will see a lot of potential with the Wii U (I for one am getting this game). Also there has been about 9 sales in the past year in which Darksiders 2 has gotten front row seats to on the eShop.

Time to hang up the Vita flag man, The console is 3 years old in 19 days. ;)

I can guarantee that Borderlands 2 wouldn't have sold better on the Wii U with the same circumstances. There are no Shooter fans on the Wii U! The Borderlands 2 PS Vita port was a 2 years old port and sold 1/5 of the PS3 version which isn't that bad. The Darksiders 2 Wii U port was a 3 months old port and sold 1/6 of the Xbox 360 version. So which is worse??

Neither is true and the former was never mentioned as a factor when PS/Xbox were getting low sales.

DS2 sold poor on Wii U, theres no denying that. PS4 was never selling bad, X1 only dropped to wii U sales momentarily and is selling great now but most importantly, software has never had a problem selling on eitehr of those 2 system, even when X1 was at its worst.

Did you read any part of my post? PS/XBOX =/= ps4/x1. oh, and a lot of software have trouble on ps4/x1. just because some titles sell great doesn't change that many sell average.

and finally, DS2 didn't sell poorly on wii u, 1/6 of the ps360 counterparts is quite ok for a launch title (0 installed base). An exclusive Darksiders 3 released in 2015/2016 would do 500k at the very worst on wii u, possibly 1 million.

And resident evil revelations on wii u sold 1/2 of the x360 version, different cases for different games. you can't guarantee that borderlands 2 on wii u would sell worse than on vita, not at all.

I just hope we see a GOOD Darksiders 3 eventually, either on multiple consoles or PC.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Don't forget it was a mess so shouldn't have sold that well.

The denial and mental gymnastics on this thread is strong, don't waste your breathe. Darksiders 2 apparently sold good on Wii U...

Sure, why not release Darksiders 3 on the platform where Darksiders 2 sold worst.

Well why not bring Call of Duty to a console that never existed before?

(Original xbox in 2001)

And FYI Darksiders 2 sold better on WiiU than it did on PS3 or 360  when you take potential userbase/sold copies into account.

Install base ain't THAT important. Sales doesn't scale with install base: most early adopters of a new system also buy an overproportional amount of games AND they have less choice than on older platforms.

Let's look up the multiplatform PS4 launch games (it also had 0 install base) compared with the best selling version:

  • AC4: Black Flag (PS4) = 2.18m, AC4: Black Flag (PS3) = 3.92m, so better than 1/2 (56%)
  • Battlefield 4 (PS4) = 2.56m, Battlefield 4 (PS3) = 3.53m, so better than 1/2 (73%)
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS4) = 2.99m, Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) = 9.64m, so almost 1/3 (31%)
  • FIFA Soccer 14 (PS4) = 2.71m, FIFA Soccer 14 (PS3) = 6.91m, so better than 1/3 (39%)
  • Injustice (PS4) = 0.52m, Injustice (360) = 1.25m, so almost 1/2 (42%)
  • Madden NFL 25 (PS4) = 0.73m, Madden NFL 25 (360) = 2.06m, so better than 1/3 (35%)
  • NBA 2K14 (PS4) = 1.12m, NBA 2K14 (360) = 2.26m, so almost 1/2 (49.5%)
  • Need for Speed Rivals (PS4) = 1.38m, Need for Speed Rivals (PS3) = 1.31m, best selling version (105%)

Or the Xbox One (also 0 install base) compared with the best selling version:

  • AC4: Black Flag (XBO) = 2.00m, AC4: Black Flag (PS3) = 3.92m, so better than 1/2 (51%)
  • Battlefield 4 (XBO) = 1.66m, Battlefield 4 (PS3) = 3.53m, so almost 1/2 (47%)
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (XBO) = 2.32m, Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) = 9.64m, so almost 1/4 (24%)
  • FIFA Soccer 14 (XBO) = 1.07m, FIFA Soccer 14 (PS3) = 6.91m, so only 1/6 (15.5%)
  • Madden NFL 25 (XBO) = 0.67m, Madden NFL 25 (360) = 2.06m, so almost 1/3 (32%)
  • NBA 2K14 (XBO) = 0.61m, NBA 2K14 (360) = 2.26m, so better than 1/4 (49.6%)
  • Need for Speed Rivals (XBO) = 0.52m, Need for Speed Rivals (PS4) = 1.38m, so better than 1/3 (38%)

Last but not least the multiplatform WiiU launch games compared with the best selling version:

  • Assassin's Creed 3 (WiiU) = 0.32m, Assassin's Creed 3 (PS3) = 6.32m, so 1/20 (51%)
  • Batman: Arkham City (WiiU) = 0.27m, Batman: Arkham City (PS3) = 5.24m, so 1/20 (5.2%)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (WiiU) = 0.28m, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PS3) = 13.37m, so 1/50 (2.1%)
  • Darksiders 2 (WiiU) = 0.13m, Darksiders 2 (PS3) = 0.82m, so almost 1/6 (15.9%)
  • FIFA Soccer 13 (WiiU) = 0.28m, FIFA Soccer 13 (PS3) = 8.15m, so only 1/30 (3.4%)
  • Madden NFL 13 (WiiU) = 0.12m, Madden NFL 13 (360) = 2.80m, so less than 1/20 (4.3%)
  • Mass Effect 3 (WiiU) = 0.21m, Mass Effect 3 (360) = 2.97m, so 1/14 (7.1%)
  • NBA 2K13 (WiiU) = 0.07m, NBA 2K13 (360) = 2.90m, so 1/40 (2.4%)

As a matter of fact Darksiders 2 DID better comparing it to the other third party launch titles on WiiU... but also a lot worse than third party launch titles on XBO or PS4.

Don't think so considering it would probably be a high budget game.

I don't think it would cost more than bayonetta 2 and would get similar numbers.

Assuming this is true which for all we know it could be more than that, it won't get similar numbers than bayoneta 2.  bayo was funded and marketered heavily by nintendo and all it got was poor to moderate sucess.  Although good luck waiting for nintendo to funded it because otherwise, I doubt the developer will find any incentive to make the game considering how the second game flop on Wii U and that's without mentioning how a lot of nintendo fans bragged about how cheap they got the game on eshop which tell me most of them will wait for a sale.  In other words, you won't see the game unless nintendo stepped in.

I completely agree with everything you said.

Bayonetta 2 got moderate/good success so far. And we have no idea how much the final ltd numbers will be. I see you double downplayed by saying DS2 flopped on wii u.
