Forums - Sales - Nintendo dominates Microsoft at inventory management

I believe yet again Xbox have the best attach ratio but that is off-topic, please go back to inventory management.

Low... compared to?

Wii U software sales are far below Gamecube software sales. Its the lowest Nintendo software has ever gotten

Alright. I would like to see the actual numbers before jumping to that conclusion. But at least you try to make sense.

X360 and PS3 have attach ratio around 10 per console... just look at the VGC numbers, like 85M HW and 850M SW.

Hmm but we are talking about the 3rd year, not the final numbers.

Sure... I don't remember how those consoles were in their 3rd year... I know PS4/X1 where at 2.5 attach ratio on release. Right now PS4 is 4.66, X1 4.46 and WiiU 4.86. So considering the extra year the WiiU isn't doing so much better against the other consoles, even more if we consider that PS4 and X1 have a much better digital sales presence you can see it. Another point is that During the first year PS4 had basically no free games throw at its bundles while X1 had several 1-3 free games bundle. And WiiU had 1 game bundled for a long time. So those numbers would be even smaller.

Well, Wii U currently has 5.7. It does alright on the digital front aswell, so i dont think its doing badly at all. It's very comparable.

Wii U has a pretty good software selling rate. Better than the 3DS.

Still low though.

So, this wasnt the case at all Mr Lawlight. Lets show restraint when making these kind of comments without the numbers to back it.

Never said they are bad just that it isn't high yet and I don't have data to compare previous gen at this point in time... and the attach ratio I put here are from VGC 4.86, also Nintendo digital sales are certainly quite lower when you don't have much space on the HDD to save many games for normal users.

Nah Microsoft just flood the market on purpose. They have the money and resources to do it. They just want a sea of green boxes for users to see the brand is strong. Nothing wrong with this strategy.

Nintendo only recently start manufacturing the Wii U again, so they had to be a bit more precise on how they ship the console.

Seems to be a very ignored fact, but the Wiu U works with external hard drives that you can buy in any store. You are in no way limited to what the system brings.

It isn't a ignored fact... the same way X1 allows you to use an external HD but that don't make it a bother that MS don't allow easy change of internal drive.

Anyway, most users don't want to get all the hasle just to circunvent designs limitations.
