2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

 Yes , its huge on the PSP , but not on console , thats why IMO the Wii version will dissapoint a bit in sales ... MHP2G is #4 :D

Gundam Mosou, Everybody Golf, DMC4 and Dynasty Warriors were all very high on the list, but none of them broke the 500.000 units boundary.

This poll is so off, look at the November one and tell me it is an indicator of sales... The fact that MKWii is high up there and is casual bodes very well for that game.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

well, many games on PS3 where in top 5 and didn't top 300+ sells...
XiaoMay, which ps3 games? =)

but none of them broke the 500.000 units boundary.

We were speaking about 300+ actually. =)

Ok, my bad. Everybody Golf and Dynasty Warriors passed the 300.000 mark. Still, it shows that this list has no link to sales whatsoever. Wii has currently 13 titles over 300.000 and 5 titles over a million in Japan. PS3 has zero over 500.000.

Persona 3 for ps2 was in 3# and first week it´s over 80.000
Blue dragon 3# and first week 80.00
Mario Galaxy never in top 3 and firts week 250.000
Dragon quest wii never in top 3 first week 300.000
Smash never in top 3 first week 820.00

I think that wii fans pass of famitsu most wanted

Wii fans: hardcore and casual

Only hardcore gamers will subscribe/respond to Famitsu magazine. I think this list still reflect Wii fans' opinions at some level.

If a hardcore game is on the list, it will do OK.
If a casual game is on the list, it will sell over the roof.
If a Mario game is not on the list, it will still sell.



It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Dynasty Warriors 6 has never been in Top 10. Take a look at the list of one week in 09/2007, the points it received was very low. It's the same for Hot Shots Golf 5.

In my opinion, both Dynasty Warriors and Hot Shots Golf series are for both casual and hardcore gamers, like most Nintendo games. A lot of women in Asia enjoy playing both series with their boyfriends/husbands very much. Note: I am not saying there are no hardcore female gamers.
