Since we still no next to nothing about the game this is just a pure guess. But in less than 11 months we will all be playing it which is not very long at all! So how many dungeons do you think there will be and how many will you be happy with? On a side note do you prefer lots of dungeons or a smaller amount that are longer in duration? Personally the more dungeons the better and the longer the better, i would be ecstatic if those rumours are true about the forest dungeon being as big as hyrule field in OOT. BTW of the five 3d console mainline games OOT has 9 dungeons, MM has 4, WW has 6 (forsaken fortress counts), TP has 9 and SS has 7, this averages out at 7 per game.

If it's really emulating Zelda 1, 9. 8 + final dungeon.

I think with such an open world, Zelda Wii U openly embraces DLC for future Dungeons. However, I don't think Nintendo will do this as they said that the first dungeon is bigger than Hyrule Field. Depends on how far Nintendo intends to go with it after release.

I say 8-9 but please no DLC. I do hope that the world is a lot more immersive though and not just there to get from one dungeon to another. I want to get lost in the world darn it!!!

I guess 9 or 10.

Why? Because I think there will be smaller ones, since the world is now open and in such scenario would be normal to have smaller (and sometimes bigger) constructions. A Link Between Worlds kinda uses this approach sometimes..

Nintendo's intent with this Zelda seems to be make everything bigger so I'm gonna go with 10 just to 'outdo' Twilight Princess.

10+ because I read somewhere that Nintendo want to have differen types of dungeons like some you can finish within a short gaming session. So its probably 30 or something like that.
