Nintendo has never been strong for online, that's pretty obvious. But I really hope that Xenoblade Chronicles X has online multi-player where you can go out in to the vast world and explore and fight with friends. 

Monolith and Nintendo could make something big with this game, and if they have online cooperative mode, this game will be a blast to play with friends.

As long as no exclusive online content. Want ot be able to explore and do everything 100% however I want to play. Whether its online or off.

I mean I hope this game is as great as the first game and thus I see myself replaying again in say 5 years and my friends might not be playing, so would i need to play with some stranger to do some part or another. that woudl be anoying.

I hate when games think some online/co-op exclusive missions/items/ect are a great incentive to a game. Huge turnoff imo.

I could see drop-in, drop-out co-op where you can drop in to a friends game and take control of one of the companion characters. Reason this is what I think they would do is to preserve the singleplayer story's integrity. And you know what? I'd be down for that. It would still be very cool because the big draw of co-op for this game specifically - for me at least - would be exploration in the enormous open world.

For a second I thought it was confirmed... still waiting then T_T

If there's online co-op, there's going to be exclusive online content. Maybe not exclusive machine parts and stuff, but definitely exclusive missions and mission types.  No way around that.
