The first three trailers all show online multiplayer. We've all seen who the main characters of the plot are. None of the characters fighting in those trailers match the ones we've seen that are relevant to the plot, and there are chat logs where they talk to each other in casual text.

They've shown online through gameplay, screenshots, and they've verbally confirmed it twice. Anyone who thinks online multiplayer isn't confirmed and hasn't been since day one is lying to themselves.

Well, I can't wait to see it then.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Same here. What I really hope is that you don't need to be friends with someone to meet them online. I hope they make it more like Destiny where you can also meet people in the game world after you complete the single player or in a way that doesn't conflict with the single player. I saw one scene where there was clearly another player just standing next to his Doll while the player just runs past him. It would be awesome if you could just walk up to them and ask them to join your party or fight monsters along side them, even if they aren't in your party. That is the sort of online stuff not confirmed that I want to see.

I want it to be more than just a Monster Hunter clone. (online wise, of course)

I think, if anything, the online mode will consist in simply co-op, where, like you say, the other player can interact with your world even if it's not close to you and vice versa. A little MMO would be cool, with New Los Angeles as a hub. I don't know, an online thing in Xenoblade Chronicles X sounds really ambitious.

this would be badass and will give the game more attention than otherwise.

Dude thats amazing!!!

To be honest I never played the one for the Wii(was going to play it but didn't get to it.)So I didn't pay much attention to the game, only followed what ppl said about the game, and was exited about the HUGE world but thats it.Online gameplay completely changes the game for me, and from what I saw in that video it is going to be just awesome,it reminded me so much of Monster Hunter(which has my favorite online gameplay.)

I'm gonna go take a deep look into the game now, and thanks for opening my eyes to the possibilities.

As long as I can jump in my mech, transform into a car and run Jizz_Beard over, over and over again I will be happy =D

Just saying, I really REALLY doubt it will have online co op for main story.

Online component will be minimal or secluded from main game is my guess.

Is anyone saying any different?

Yes,

"I could see drop-in, drop-out co-op where you can drop in to a friends game and take control of one of the companion characters. "

This will not be in the online part of the game.
