Why would someone go on an official website when there more and more accurate info on the game everywhere else?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say, give an example if you would.

An "official" site is controlled. It only has the info they want you to know, as opposed to a news site that will have literally everything there is to know about the game. Every trailer. Every gameplay video. Every interview. Every tweet. Every analysis. Gameplay impressions. Resolution. Framerate. Translations. Discussions. Etc.

But most websites only have information beyond what the official one has POST release. Until then, they get their info FROM the official website (or youtube, which is also embedded on the website). The official website does lose some significance AFTER the game is released, but you could just go get the game from the store after the release. Not the case with Xenoblade Chronicles X.

to be honest I rarely ever go to a game sites official page. The last time I went to one was when I went to Mistwalkers page to beg for Lost Odyssey 2 or The Last Story 2.

That's not even remotely true. Most information comes from everywhere else BUT the official website. Typing down Xenoblade Chronicles X on google right now could find you a dozen websites with far more complete sets of information than that website has.

...

Just googled.

http://www.siliconera.com/tag/xenoblade-chronicles-x/

and

https://www.youtube.com/user/GameXplain/search?query=x+monolith

https://www.youtube.com/user/GameXplain/search?query=%22xenoblade+chronicles+x%22

That's infinitely more information than the the official site has.

Most (if not all) of everything on Siliconera is taken directly from the website. GameXplain is good for knowing the hidden details of the game (translated names of attacks, and menus) but can only guess at the names of the characters and backgrounds of the characters (just what they translate it to which is sometimes wrong like Lynlee was supposedly named Rin according to GameXplain), the story, tweets from the developer, ect. So half if not more of what you get from GameXplain COULD be completely wrong. Not to mention some of the stuff is common sense, and others are just things they notice that are references to past games (not really info on the game).

That's not true at all. Most isn't on the site.

All the twitter information is on their website, the videos from youtube are on their website, the characters and background article info is on their website. The only thing I see on the Siliconera that isn't on their website is pictures that were taken from the videos that ARE on the website.

For instance Shingo Kawabata just tweeted about how long the release of Xenoblade Chronicles was (5 years to be exact) but translation for X is underway.

If I really want the game, I often go to the official website. It often has new info straight from the mouth of the devs, and often any new pics or videos show up at the official website first for obvious reasons.
