Lol nah people still make fun of them all the time, I hear gay used as an insult every day at college here. Its not that people are more open minded or accepting its that people know that there are consequences for such a thing these days so people keep it more quiet is all.

The only thing I can say, at least in this specific case, is we have a loser father who is taking advantage of a daughter with obvious mental issues.  Shes says herself that she suffers from depression, and it's pretty obvious she has father issues brought on by his abandonment.  He's a few years away from hittin 40, yet has no residency of his own, instead living with whoever he's dating.  And recently had to move back in with a former girlfriend he dated not too long ago.  Real class act there.  Didn't see it anywhere in the article, but I'm doubting he has a job.  Or if he does, uses his money on the "unneccesities of life."

Which makes me question those defending this.  You guys really need to learn to pick your cases, instead of just blindly defending them all, and bashing those who are opposed to your own viewpoint by labeling them haters and/or bigots.  Now, if these two were actually of sound mind and still wanted to do this, then you'd actually have some kind of solid ground to stand on in a debate/discussion.

I think people calling these two consenting adults greatly overestimate the emotional maturity of teenagers. I don't care who their partner is, if an 18-year-old is talking about getting married and having two kids already they need to slow the hell down. You've got your whole life to do that stuff. This is your first serious relationship and you aren't even old enough to drink champagne at your own wedding.
