It will be fusion,there wont be a console next gen

it will more so be like ps vita/vita tv

it will act like a handheld but u can plug it into your tv and play your games on your tv

not really all that exciting...

I disagree, the days of the "NES" and "Gameboy" are long gone and represent a different time. It wouldn't make much sense to call a modern console a "NES" or "Gameboy" when it would have practically no resemblance to the original console other than the fact both are made by Nintendo and are a home consoles/handheld.

HDS is alright I think, it's not a very original name but it gets the message across and it seems to be unique enough not to be confusing.

Nintendo Entertainment Handheld (NEH). I believe they will leave the DS line and start on a different track. It will NOT be the console, and there will NOT be a "dock" that will be the console, a dock has NEVER  been mentioned, so I don't see why people here are even considering it.

I still think that their next line of systems should be named after their API "GX". Nintendo GX Go for the handheld would be interesting, GX Home for the Console, and GX QOL for the Quality of Life platform.

While I think "HDS" sounds kinda cool, it wouldn't make sense because I don't think their next handheld will have dual screens. I expect it to be a single, larger screen like the WiiU Gamepad or a tablet.

While it represents a different time, I believe it represents a better time for the core market. The NES name probably holds more weight than the Wii name.

GameBoy might not be the best name but it's familiar while allowing Nintendo to ditch the DS name. I think it's time to ditch it. After the DS, DS Lite, DSi, DsiXL, 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, and New 3DSXL, the HDS would be confusing to some. Unlike Nintendo consoles, it would seem that the casual market still cares for Nintendo HH's. They should avoid confusing them.

Wonder where people are even getting these ideas from. Also wondering where ANY Nintendo personel even stated such a thing to be in the company plans

In the very least for home consoles, I think definitely they should bring back "Nintendo" as a core part of the name, which it was from the NES to the Gamecube. Handhelds really I have no idea, perhaps they could somehow tie in the name of the handheld with the name of the home console to reflect a new generation of shared architecture between home consoles and portables.

Honestly when it comes to Nintendo consoles and names, anything is possible so who knows what they will go with .
