I think they will release a new name , for the people will better understand that it is a new console and was " GameBoy Advance " for " Nintendo DS" is going to be something totally new.


Prediction: Nintendo Switch 2 sells 18 million until the end of 2025

I would also be happy with Nintendo DS 2 or Nintendo 3DS.2


ANYTHING just make it DS. (Dual -Screen).

I hate single screen handhelds so much. Second screen is very useful and it makes console look and feel better yo play imo.

Just reuse those names. I think it's been long enough now that the people who care will understand they are new systems

Something along the lines of DS seems likely.

It's been awhile since Nintendo's made a completely brand new name for their consoles instead of just adding an extra letter or something.

It will NOT be 4DS, even though a lot of people (not in this thread though) seem to think so. 4DS doesn't make any f'in sense. You can't look at the fourth dimension, as the fourth dimension is time. If your system can't play a game that runs in time, as well as the actual 2D/3D image, then you have quite a big problem, unless you enjoy just looking at still images instead of playing a game.


So yeah, it won't be 4DS, unless Nintendo finds a way to break the laws of physics, which, admittedly would be quite cool.

first, we need to know if they will keep the 2 screen scheme, and if they will keep 3D(now they finally fix the 3D with the new, seems resoanable to keep).
If they keep 2 screens, i wouldnt bet in 2 720p screens(so, no HDS).
Also, there is the free screen format rumor, could be something new that ould change totally the name. Or a foldable screen.
Or maybe they will go in something related to the camera face recognizing inputs. blink the eye, close the right eye, showing the tongle, look to botom screen, etc could be easily used as gameplay inputs.
