Greetings, Salutations, and Felicitations comrades!
I come to you, on this day, with an idea. Ever since Microsoft got into the hardware business, it has never been able to be even remotely successful in Japan, let alone dominant. Yes, one could argue the overall gaming industry in Japan is dying (except for mobile), but there is still a MASSIVE market there that is being sold to by mostly Nintendo (3ds) and to a much smaller extent the ps4 and Wii U. The xbone failed in Japan just like the 360 did before it. Microsoft should not waste money trying to push hardware that, no matter how much money they put into it, will never go anywhere near a profit margin. It is a waste of time. The xbone in Japan is dead. However, there are still plenty of games that are on the xbox one that Japanese gamers would like to play, but not nearly enough to buy the system for. Here comes the Wii U. Why not just release any newer xbox one exclusive games unto the Wii U in Japan instead? You just lower some of the details in the games so it would work on the Wii U, and optimize it to work with the gamepad and there ya go. Why not at least TRY to make SOME money off of Japan, while hurting Sony in the process (let's be honest, if some "hardcore" microsoft games could be on Wii U, many people wouldn't bother buying a ps4). Yes, that would also help Nintendo, but only in Japan.
Imagine a Halo 5 exclusivity to Wii U in Japan (everywhere else it is exclusive to xbone)
Imagine Gears of War Wii U in Japan.
Imagine Minecraft Wii U in Japan.
It would level the playing field globally with Sony, it would boost Nintendo to even more dominance in Japan over Sony, and it would save Microsoft from totally losing out on the entire Japanese gaming market.
