Greetings, Salutations, and Felicitations comrades!

I come to you, on this day, with an idea. Ever since Microsoft got into the hardware business, it has never been able to be even remotely successful in Japan, let alone dominant. Yes, one could argue the overall gaming industry in Japan is dying (except for mobile), but there is still a MASSIVE market there that is being sold to by mostly Nintendo (3ds) and to a much smaller extent the ps4 and Wii U. The xbone failed in Japan just like the 360 did before it. Microsoft should not waste money trying to push hardware that, no matter how much money they put into it, will never go anywhere near a profit margin. It is a waste of time. The xbone in Japan is dead. However, there are still plenty of games that are on the xbox one that Japanese gamers would like to play, but not nearly enough to buy the system for. Here comes the Wii U. Why not just release any newer xbox one exclusive games unto the Wii U in Japan instead? You just lower some of the details in the games so it would work on the Wii U, and optimize it to work with the gamepad and there ya go. Why not at least TRY to make SOME money off of Japan, while hurting Sony in the process (let's be honest, if some "hardcore" microsoft games could be on Wii U, many people wouldn't bother buying a ps4). Yes, that would also help Nintendo, but only in Japan.

Imagine a Halo 5 exclusivity to Wii U in Japan (everywhere else it is exclusive to xbone)

Imagine Gears of War Wii U in Japan.

Imagine Minecraft Wii U in Japan.

It would level the playing field globally with Sony, it would boost Nintendo to even more dominance in Japan over Sony, and it would save Microsoft from totally losing out on the entire Japanese gaming market.

I don't think that Japanese people actually care that much about Halo or Gears so the development costs for Halo 5 and Gears of War on the wiiU will not justify the sales imo cause you can't just port it from x1 and expect it to work. You have to optimize it and downgrade it a lot and you have to make sure that it fits within that 28gb guaranteed space restriction as well as you have to make sure it works with Nintendo's online and even Microsoft's online or else there won't be too many people to play with as well as many other things

So no, I don't think its a good idea for Microsoft

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

xbox is transitioning to pc multiplat, so why even bother with nintendo?

Not going to happen. Plus the games you listed are developed with the XBO in mind. They'd have to scale back to work on the Wii U.

If Japan cared about Halo and Gears of War then they would buy a Xbox. They haven't, and putting those games on WiiU would do nothing for Nintendo or Microsoft. What a silly suggestion.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Imagine Smash on X1. With Masterchief and Banjo.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

So ms should port their games to WiiU for Japan of all places ONLY? Possibly the worst idea I've heard in months

Is the first poll option supposed to be, "Maybe you're on something"?

No, Microsoft should not gimp Halo 5 just so they can sell 50k units on a rival system in a dying market.

Except the Wii U isn't strong enough for Halo 5.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

Wouldn't they just buy a Xbox if they were interested in those games anyways? Also Minecraft is already on Playstation and PC in Japan.
