The Jan 2013 touched so many things (even a few that haven't been brought up afterwards). That's why they are only covering spring, to make you happpy and leave the rest for E3. |
My comment wasn't directly aimed to you, but to some of the others that have commented on this (and other) threads.
That Jan 2013 Direct was a desperate move to attract users but had the side effect of making some people delusional. thinking that every Direct can be as good as that and that can have as many (or more) new announcements, specially for their beloved franchises. I've lost count of how many times Metroid was meant to be announced on a Direct, and the same goes for other games like Star Fox (revealed, or hinted, at E3), F-Zero, etc.
But that's not to say that this Direct will be bad. After all, with the launch of the New 3DS on the west and 2 or 3 new games revealed for it and some new footage of those "spring" titles, it will be a Direct worth watching. But some are hoping for so many unnanounced games, and surprises, etc. that they'll end being disappointed. And all because of them and their ridiculous expectations, not because of Nintendo.
And I hope you're right and they make me happy at E3!
Please excuse my bad English.

Ah I wasn't paying much attention to the posters. Well then I'm not being negative, he is just hyped for the wrong things! I definitely definitely think his requests are "unreasonable" by Nintendo standards. IMO anyone who expects to see SMTxFE tomorrow is dreaming, and those expecting a whole slew of release dates or a significant amount of Zelda U info aren't doing much better. |
I'm definitely not expecting all these things to happen, I know a lot probably won't. It is more of a list of what I would like to see. I'm dreaming a bit. :)

Was thinking of adding that (hype) comment regarding the Jan 2013 E3 in my previous response, but you went over it quite nicely
I have high expectations, as you can see in the edit, of things that will never make it; like an expanded third party Virtual Console, to be able to purchase eShop titles through a browser, Miiverse notifications via mobile, and a new deluxe digital promotion.

I always go with a blank, open mind with the Directs as you never know what to expect, so that way I never feel disappointed.
Regarding OS and services updates/changes/improvements, they are a really hard to tell. I mean, they are always welcome and some of those changes can become selling points (making it something more likely to be revealed at E3), but at the same time they tend to be a bit tedious (and therefore more likely to be on a regular Direct).
Oh, well. We'll see what happens soon!

Damn that's the same as their E3 direct in 2013!
