Jan 2013 was excellent, I don't remember much of the Feb 2014 one.

And the E3 part, I thought that was a very appropriate pun, going by some peps expectations.

The problem with the Jan 2013 Direct is that Nintendo revealed so many things in it that, when June came, their E3 Direct it was disappointing... unlike last year, which had a "simply" good Feb 2014 Direct but an amazing E3 Direct.

And I'd prefer to have an amazing E3 this year too.

The Jan 2013 touched so many things (even a few that haven't been brought up afterwards). That's why they are only covering spring, to make you happpy and leave the rest for E3.

My comment wasn't directly aimed to you, but to some of the others that have commented on this (and other) threads.

That Jan 2013 Direct was a desperate move to attract users but had the side effect of making some people delusional. thinking that every Direct can be as good as that and that can have as many (or more) new announcements, specially for their beloved franchises. I've lost count of how many times Metroid was meant to be announced on a Direct, and the same goes for other games like Star Fox (revealed, or hinted, at E3), F-Zero, etc.

But that's not to say that this Direct will be bad. After all, with the launch of the New 3DS on the west and 2 or 3 new games revealed for it and some new footage of those "spring" titles, it will be a Direct worth watching. But some are hoping for so many unnanounced games, and surprises, etc. that they'll end being disappointed. And all because of them and their ridiculous expectations, not because of Nintendo.

And I hope you're right and they make me happy at E3!
