really dont see the need for this since you can fast type using the Smartglass app

Same here. Especially if you're using a headset then that's a lot attached to the controler.

Is it possible to use the Kinect so it uses speech recognition?

I dont think so, and judging how good the voice recongnition is on the Kinect now I doubt that would work well.

I guess if configured correctly it will be at least the same as with a usual microphone. But I see you don't own an Xbone.
