Forums - Gaming - So is anyone actually excited for Evolve?

It's fps unless you're a monster, and everyone wants to be the monster, so you will hardly ever get it. So I'm not interested in a game where I will be in fps mode 80% of the time. Also I don't know if it really appeals to traditional fps multiplayer fans. They like fast paced twitch action. This isn't really that style.

The appeal is really to the big game hunter genre fan. And that isn't a big fanbase.

I like the concept though.

I think it will fail because of what it is, not because of its quality.

Some people will figure out exploits really quickly for one site and then it's an uphill race for the devs to rebalance the game after every patch because every new patch will shift the balance.
Also a lot of people will be complaining not being able to ever play the monster.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

After the beta, nope

As a person who doesn't really like FPS's, Evolve was more interesting to me than any other shooter shown at E3. Of course that won't translate to a sale though, so it doesn't really count for anything.

Since its reveal the media and the dev/publisher have been making a big fuzz about this game, kinda trying to replicate the Titanfall effect (look how many awards we got at E3 guys) but I really haven't seen gamers respond to the media hype at all, which on the one hand makes me almost certain that the media was somehow paid off to hype this game and on the other hand makes me wonder if there are any people on here genuinely hyped for it.

I personally think the game looks boring and definitely not worth $60 but that's just my opinion.

I don't think it looks boring, but I agree that it isn't getting as much buzz from actual people as it is from the press.  I played the Alpha though and can say that it is indeed fun and a great concept.

Just not enough depth for me to warrant a day 1 buy.  I probably will get it at $5 though.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Another game to be broken at release is my bet, beta was a fucking disaster.

That was because Sony's servers were down. Cant exactly blame the devs for that.

Nope reminds me of titanfall but without the console exclusive label forcing people to hype it. Looks like a reasonable multiplayer mode to a full game.

I'm now filled with determination.

Looks to scary.

I tried it but I hated it. It's fun to watch but it socks to actually play it.
