Because  Nintendo tries to stay unique and deliver their special kind of games and not what the masses of idiots want. Also they´re making HUUUUGE profit thanks to the Wii U, how is that "Nintendo couldn´t do the same" again?

Nintendo aren't making a huge profit though :p The last few years have been their worst since they first start reporting their earnings in 1981. They've posted a FY loss for 2011, 2012 and 2013 (though it appears they might post a profit for 2014, but a relatively small one).

That's not to say Sony are doing well, things have been rather grim for them for a while, but let's not pretend the WiiU has been anything other than a sales and financial failure for Nintendo. It's fortunate they have the 3DS to rely on.

(You can google "nintendo post 3rd annual loss" to find out more).

Nintendo in first two quarters make $140m profit without 3th holiday quarter that is always strongest one, it pretty clear that they will make good profit for 2014 financial year.

Like I said in my last post, last quarter (3th quarter of 2014), Nintendo make biger profit ($240m) then Sony entertainment division with all that millions of PS4 sales.

You can also google Amiibo to find out more

We're all aware that Amiibo are doing well, but how does that prove your point? They've posted an annual loss the last three years in a row, and their profits from the most recent few quarters were modest. Hardly the "HUUUUGE profit" you appear to believe the WiiU in generating.

I already said they're expected to post a profit this FY, but a relatively small one (relative being the key word).

I'm not sure why you mentioned the PS4's sales in your 2nd line. Unless you have isolated data to compare the WiiU's profitability against the PS4's, the latter's sales aren't really relevant to the topic.

I don't think that will be small, I expect at least around $200m.

I mentioned Sony because of comparison.

I consider $200m relatively small for a company that only a few years ago was posting profits in the billions (though i'm expecting more than $200 myself). That's just my personal view though.

I know, it was just our comment about the PS4's sales that struck me as odd, since we have no proper context to judge it by yet.

Nintendo hasn't even tried to turn it around, and I'm feeling they aren't about to.

Sony released a smaller version of the PS3 and COMPLETELY rebranded it. New game boxes, new logo, new price, new slogans, new commercials.

Ninintendo never had any unified marketing strategy for the Wii U in the first place, and never seemed willing to spend the kind of money on awareness that they did on the Wii.

Yep, like it's been stated already, doesn't seem like Nintendo has put forth an effort to turn it around.

True, but after 3 years of losses, $200m (i'm expecting more too) is pretty good.

Because PS4 is selling like crazy (better than Wii U and 3DS combined) Sony before stated that they not selling at lost, and Nintendo yet managed to make bigger profit.

Yes, but again, without proper context it doesn't mean much. There's more to SCE than the PS4 and there's a lot more to Nintendo than the 3DS and WiiU. Without isolated data, it's an apples to oranges comparison.

PS3 has great exclusives and of different genre along with thrid party support. Free and better online, PS+. Media support, easy to upgrade HDD, blu-ray player for its time. I am only having PS3 and quite content with it. It has lot going for it and I think I have enough to play the whole year. So PS4 is this christmas at the earliest. PS3 was and is still awesome :D

Anyone new to gaming I would recommend PS3 than Wii U TBH. Let alone PS4, Xbone
