Forums - Nintendo - The Wii U drought 2K15, who is to blame this year?

The consumer, for not purchasing third party games like ZombiU. Had there been more support, we could see things like Resident Evil HD or such on WiiU as well to fight the drought.

So Nintendo fans are to blame, because they are the ones buying Wii U and they are doing what they've been doing for several generations: buying 1st party games and very little else, aside from Just Dance?

Combined with Mighty number 9 and possibly Devil's Third, there will be more games to buy that I can afford.

I planning to pick up Mighty 9, Devils Third, Yoshi Wolly Word, Star Fox, Xenoblade, Splatoon, Mario Maker and Zelda... Eight games, and I will still be playing MK8 and Smash Bros U, now coupled with Splatoon.. I won't have more time for more games, nor even budget.

3rd parties (75% shovelware, 15% overpriced ports with no effort/lack of dlc, 5% good games without any advertising)

For the last time you don't buy a Nintendo console for 3rd party games you buy it for 1st and 2nd.

A "hardcore" gamer buy a Nintendo console and either a Sony or MS console.

That way there will never be a "game drought".

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

I dont know who's to blame...prob Nintendo i guess. However, im kinda glad of a drought as i have about 12 Wii U games not started, hopefully i can wrap those up by the time the games start rolling in.

Obviously! Nintendo can put out so many first party games before eventually being out of time to develop more, which leads to these droughts on which there's no third-party games to be bought because.

as with every other failure with the WiiU, the blame is solely on nintendo

how is it soley on Nintendo?

Nintendo Gamers are to blame too.

Even if Nintendo did a moneyhat and the game sold 100K then you think they will moneyhat another? They need to buy games.

3rd pary publishers are also partially to blame for stupid things they done with their games. Not all but a few.

you cant be serious? its nintendos job to provid a product that the consumers want. consumers shouldnt be forced to buy something they dont like, so they can get more of that something they dont like.

again, its nintendos job to ensure that their product is desirable.

There are 8million Wii Us out there now.

you dont need every game to sell 8milllion to make a profit. If games bought games hell even 1-2million of them then 3rd parties would also stick around.

Look when PS4 launched it had ZERO userbase gamers bought the system and also supported the games. They didn't go out and just buy Sony 1st party games.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Yoshi's Whooly World
Splatoon
Mario Party 10
Devil's Third
Mario Maker
Star Fox
The Legend of Zelda
Xenoblade Chronicles X

that's 9 first-party games that Nintendo has promised will release this year. There are also third-party games like Mighty no 9 and Shantae Half-Genie Hero. Might not as many games coming other plattforms, but it is still a lot and most of them are exclusive

the reality of the matter is that most WiiU owners probably had another console. and since WiiU really gave them no advantages to buy the games on the system, they bought the other third parties on their other console. it was nintendos fault for not providing any meaningful advantage. you cant blame shitty sales on the consumer, its the most preposterous claim i heard for a failed product ever. the company needs to provide a desirable product, and thats nintendos job
