For a niche game on a niche console this is very impressive. I hope Nintendo at least offers to buy the IP from Platinum.

Pretty sure Sega would prefer to hold onto it.

Why? it's a niche title?

Wouldnt really call it a niche title tbh...

Nintendo probably wont buy the IP. Only time Ive see that happen is with Gears Of War...

Gears, Halo, hmmm Wipeout(actually I think Sony just bought the whole studio along with the IP).

Pretty sure MS owned Halo from the start and Sony bought the developer.

Halo was actually first displayed on Apple and Windows OS :P It was only later that Bungie was 'acquired' by MS only to be relieved from their contract later sans Halo ownership.

Video games are niche compared to movies and music.

And the USA is small compared to Russia. What's the point?

Just because something is niche doesn't mean it can't be successful.

Didn't say it wasn't successful i'm just saying SEGA has no real reason to hold onto to it if given a good offer.

Just read that MS bought Bungie in 2000. They became independent after Halo ODST...

Bungie were independant whilst developing Halo(when it was meant to be a third-person sci-fi strategy game) but MS purchased them during development :P

Bungie were working on Halo prior to their purchase from MS, hence Bungie owned the IP up until 2000. MS did not own the Halo brand from its inception. MS did fund Halo from 2000-onwards and probably changed it to a first-person shooter which was a great move. The original Halo is probably one of the best launch titles ever for a console along with Super Mario 64.

That doesnt matter. They bought the developer and not only the franchise...

Ahhh so that is what you are arguing. That's fine, I don't disagree with you there. But Halo was purchased by MS(along with Bungie of course). It was not a homegrown in-house franchise(although it is now) like say Forza or God of War.
