If you have bought the game AND the system it is for, or if there is literally no other way to get the game in any other way (including imports, eBay, etc)

I live in south america and games are expensive. I can afford videogames now but this wasn't always the case... Besides it goes without punishment over here! So why not?

Call me a motherfucker, go on. See if I care.

That's tempting dude...

But yeah, I know what you mean. And it's so easy to find pirated products that it's just stupid to buy the official ones (which are ~5x more expensive over here than in NA).

Call me a motherfucker then! Just be sure to put a disclaimer saying it's a joke unless you want a ban!

That's the problem, everything is just a LOT more expensive. And some stuff is really hard to find. Especially the old consoles and retro games, those are impossible to get.

I'd only find piracy to be acceptable IFF (IF AND ONLY IF) the said software isn't been sold anymore because went out of production long ago or isn't been offered by it's owner's and distributor's ...

Oh tell me about it. The consoles are just impossible to buy, if you're lucky to find them (old ones, of course).

I guess for cartridge games; but it is pretty simple to get PS1/2/3 games here! I actually bought many games for my PS2 right around the corner! Not sure about Xbox though, those were never popular. And for Handhelds it's even easier, just get an R4.

Motherfucker (jk((nk)))

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

If you can't buy something through legit channels, sure. I've also been known to "try before buying" regardless of legality. Hell, there have been a few instances where downloading an iso was faster and easier than digging through my stuff to find my actual physical copy.

Exactly what is says on the title. In which ocassions do you think piracy is justified, if not beneficial?

None.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

None. It's not a respectful or commendable act. That being said, it is a money saver.

If you own the product, and then download it from a torrent site, then I think it's fine, especially if the product is very old. Otherwise, it's not right.

Without piracy there would not be any The Witcher!

when you can't find the game anywhere (generally due to being discontinued).
